3. Montsant y Prades

HIDDEN TREASURES

The province of Tarragona has some of the most interesting mountain ranges in the Catalan Pre-Coastal Range, with their modest altitude and relatively unvisited, perfect for hiking or simply going walking and enjoying the scenery.

Montsant Nature Park is home to a rich biological diversity favoured by a specific relief of crags, gorges and ravines. There are majestic views from the top of this mountain range of high spiritual symbolism.

A little to the East lie the Montañas de Prades (Prades mountains) and the Natural Site of Poblet, with its bold personality, culminating in the 1,202 metres of Tossal de la Baltassana. Picturesque urban centres, such as Siurana and Prades, and the Poblet Monastery, a Cistercian Art gem from the Middle Ages, are well worth a visit.

3. Montsant y Prades, the Mediterranean Mountain
We have a peaceful 10-person holiday home available for renting in this area (specifically in Clará, the oldest town in Torredembarra, on the Costa Dorada). It is situated 10 minutes' walk away from a vast beach area considered to be a Nature Reserve for its wetlands, dunes and species which are conserved there and have practically disappeared all along the Mediterranean coast. See its features and rates here.
